Ancient Chinese Astrology

The first known Astrologers were Arabians who charted the movements of moon, sun and the five visible planets. As early as 3000 BC they made predictions based on their observation of changes in the heavenly bodies.

There was considerable trade between Arabia and China during these times (along the Silk Road) so it is not surprising that Chinese Astrology emerged soon after.

Chinese Astrologers Approached Things Differently

Ancient Chinese Astrologers were very methodical in their approach to understanding changes in the sky. They built observation buildings and kept careful calculations. Their discoveries about changes in the movement of heavenly bodies led to a calendar, a manner of keeping time, and methods for predicting eclipses and comets.

While the Ancient Chinese were developing their observation methods, they integrated their discoveries with the concept of harmony, or yin and yang.

With these tools, Chinese Astrologers developed methods for computing a person's fate and destiny. Calculations involve the day, time, and season of birth. Many of these methods are still used today.
